GENERAL PROVISIONS
The aim of the event is to foster the ecological movement in Lithuania, enhance the participants' knowledge of the country, promote ecologically clean tourism, invite the participants to test their level of physical fitness and stamina, promote the interest in Lithuania abroad.
TIME AND PLACE
The marathon will take place on September 19-21, 2003 in the Vilnius county. The start will be given at 11:00 p.m. (23:00), September 19. Participants should arrive at the base camp till 8:00 p.m. (20:00), 19 September. The place of the base camp will be announced on 11 September.
ADMINISTRATION
The Marathon is organised by the "Wanderers' Club", the Union of Lithuanian Travellers and the Sport Club of the Ministry of National Defence. The organising committee and the panel of referees will administer the event.
PARTICIPANTS
The Marathon is open to participants of at least 18 years old who have a valid life insurance and a doctor's permission to participate in the race. The team has to be composed of 4 participants (at least 1 must be female or male) and a leader/coach.
A support group can provide the camping and supplies assistance to a team, but only within the base camp only.
PROGRAMME
The participants using a navigation map shall cover the distance of about 200 km by foot, on bicycle and by canoe, negotiating natural and artificial obstacles on the way. Members of the team have to travel the largest part of the race together, and only some stages can be passed in pairs. Distances and conditions of passing the stages will be announced on September 11. The following distances are planned: about 100 km by bicycle, 50 km by foot, and 50 km by canoe.
WINNERS AND PRIZES
The winning team shall be the one spent the least time in the whole course. The teams that have taken places from the first to the third will be awarded with diplomas, medals and prizes. The total prize fund is 10 000 LTL. All participants will receive token prizes with the event logo.

Registration fee:
from July 1 till September 1 - 50 LTL (about 15 EUR) for every participant;
from September 1 till 17 100 LTL (about 30 EUR) for every participant;
September 18 19 150 LTL (about 45 EUR) for every participant.
For students - 50% discount.
Individual applications, certified by a doctor, should be supplied on the start place and legal liability contracts shall be signed.
Equipment for the race and camping, safety equipment, provisions and transportation to the camp are the responsibility of the participants. The participant can use any type of bicycles or travelling canoes.
It is prohibited to light the fire in the camp.
