1. GENERAL PROVISIONS
The aim of the event is to foster the ecological movement in Lithuania, enhance the participants’ knowledge of the country, promote ecologically clean tourism, invite the participants to test their level of physical fitness and stamina, promote an interest in Lithuania abroad.
2.TIME AND PLACE
The marathon will take place on 3-4 May 2003 in the Moletai district. The start will be given at 15:00 a.m. on May 3. Participants should arrive at the base camp at the Baltieji Lakajai lake in Apkartai (80 km from Vilnius in the direction of Utena) from 6:00 p.m. May 2 till 12.00 a.m. May 3. (Map)
3. ADMINISTRATION
The marathon is organised by the “Wanderers’ Club”, the “Union of Lithuanian Travellers” and the Sports Club of the Ministry of National Defence. An organising committee and a panel of referees shall administer the event.
4. PARTICIPANTS
The marathon is open to participants of at least 16 years of age who have a doctor’s permission to take part in the race. Teams shall be composed of 2 participants (men’s, mixed and women’s teams). A team can be assisted by a support group that shall be allowed to render technical camping and supplies assistance within the base camp only.
5. PROGRAMME
The participants of the race, with the help of a map for navigation, shall cover the distance of about 130 km by foot, on bicycles and by canoes, negotiating natural and artificial obstacles on the way. Members of the teams shall travel together. Distances and conditions of covering the stages will be finalised 0.5 months before the date of the start. The following distances are planned: about 70 km by bicycle, 30 km by foot, and 30 km by canoes.
6. ESTABLISHMENT OF WINNERS AND PRIZES
The winning team shall be established by summing up the time spent in covering the whole course. The teams taking places from I to III shall be awarded with diplomas, medals and prizes. All the participants shall receive token prizes with the event’s logo.
7. REGISTRATION, CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
Participants can register from March 1 to April 30.
Individual applications, certified by a doctor, should be supplied by 30 April. During registration an entry fee of 20 - 30 Euro shall be paid and legal liability contracts shall be signed.

Payments must be paid by banking transfer (number of account: 10002448997, name of account: “Lietuvos keliautoju sajunga”, code of the bank - 73000, name of the bank - AB “Hansa-LTB”, swift code: HABALT22) or at the place of event.
Registered participants shall receive detailed information.
Equipment for the race and camping, safety equipment, provisions and transportation to the camp are the responsibility of the participants.
